Evil Minion Inspired Phone Case Crochet Pattern

Since I was extremely busy helping a lovely friend of mine set up her Exhibition today, I thought I'd quickly share this little pattern for an Evil Minion phone case.
It's quite easy to create and the result is just adorable!

What You'll Need
5.00mm Crochet Hook
4.50mm Crochet Hook
25g DK Yarn {8ply}
Scissors
Tapestry/Wool Needle

Finished Size
Fits a phone that is 12cm (4.7 inches) in height, and 6cm (2.35 inches) wide.
{Note: This case should fit most iPhones, but can be easily adjusted as I explain below}

Colours
{This is the list of colours I used.}
Jet Black
Snow White
Dark Grey
Lavender

~ Case ~

Start of by taking your jet black yarn and 5.00mm crochet hook and make a Slip Knot, then crochet 8 Chains. {Note: If your phone is wider or smaller than 6cm (2.35 inches) you'll need to crochet a row of chains as long as the bottom of your phone instead.}

Row 1~ Chain 1, then Single Crochet into the following stitch. Continue crocheting Single Crochets all across, making sure to end with 3 Single Crochets into the last chain. The extra 2 single crochets will turn your work around, and upside down. Now you're going to continue crocheting Single Crochets into the bottom of the row of chains, making sure to end with 2 single crochets in the last chain. Slip Stitch into the chain you made at the start of this row.
Row 2 - 9~ Chain 1, then Single Crochet into every stitch. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1.
Row 10 - 17~ Change yarn colour to lavender. Chain 1, then Single Crochet into every stitch. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1.
Row 18 - 20~ Change yarn colour to jet black. Chain 1, then Single Crochet into every stitch. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1.
Row 21 - 25~ Change yarn colour to lavender. Chain 1, then Single Crochet into every stitch. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1.
{Note: Depending on the height of your phone, you can add and adjust a couple of extra rows.}
I know the case is looking very long and skinny at the moment, but once it's on your phone it stretches out just enough for a snug fit.
Fasten off, and weave in ends.

~ Eye ~

Row 1~ Taking your 4.50mm crochet hook and jet black yarn, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 2 Chains. Crochet 6 Single Crochetsinto the first chain you made. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 2. You should have 7 single crochets now.
Row 2~ Change yarn colour to snow white. Chain 1, Single Crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into every stitch. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1.
Row 3~ Change yarn colour to dark grey. Chain 1, Single Crochet into the same stitch. *Crochet 1 Single Crochet into the next stitch. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into the next stitch. Repeat from the * mark all around. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1.
When you've completed all the rows, take your tapestry needle and sew your eye onto your phone case, right in the middle of the black stripe on your case.
Then to add some extra cuteness I back stitched a little smile right below the minions eye with some grey yarn.
Fasten off, and weave in ends.

~ Mouth ~

Big Tooth
Taking your 4.50mm crochet hook and snow white yarn, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 4 Chains. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the third chain from your hook. Then crochet a Double Crochet into the next stitch.
Fasten off, and weave in ends.

Small Tooth
Taking your 4.50mm crochet hook and snow white yarn, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 3 Chains. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the third chain from your hook.
Fasten off, and weave in ends.
Then stitch a smile onto you phone case below the eye with some jet black yarn, before sewing the teeth onto your smile.

Hope you all enjoyed this cute little pattern!
If you did crochet this, please post a photo of your creation onto my Facebook Page.
I'd love to see it!
 Have a lovely day crocheting,
